Political and religious opponents, by promoting agendas contrary to established principles, pose significant challenges to societal security and cohesion. Research in the field of political security indicates that addressing these challenges effectively requires a comprehensive approach that considers both political and religious dimensions. The absence of such an approach may weaken societal foundations and erode its core values. This study, adopting a scholarly approach with a focus on the political dimensions of the Prophetic (Nabawi) and Alid (Alawi) conduct, seeks to develop a comprehensive model for managing interactions with opponents to strengthen the security of the Islamic system. The central research question is: What patterns of forbearance and decisiveness in dealing with opponents, as derived from the Prophetic and Alid conduct, have the greatest impact on political and social security?
The findings reveal that the type of engagement reflected in the social relations and governance of the Prophet and the Imams varies based on the context, conditions, and nature of the audience. A greater degree of forbearance is observed toward ordinary individuals compared to oppressors and instigators of sedition within the governance structure. The innovation of this study lies in proposing a practical framework for analyzing the conduct of the Infallibles (Ma’sumin) in the realm of security and adapting it to contemporary conditions. The research employs a descriptive-analytical methodology, with a qualitative approach to data processing and a library-based method for data collection.
